Our Story
MONTY launched in 2024, but the story starts much earlier. We’re a boyfriend and girlfriend duo who met in high school, 12 year old us had no idea a bag brand was in the making, but life has a funny way of joining the dots.
Born from a love of colour, we take combinations you wouldn’t normally see together. You know the saying “blue and green should never be seen”? We turn that idea into stripes that shouldn’t work, but somehow do.
From the beginning, we wanted to make something bold but considered. Bags that feel good to use and good to stand behind. We work with GOTS and GRS certified cottons, and our recycled nylon? It’s basically rubbish, the real sexy kind. Waste materials given a second life.
Inspired by traditional Indian market bags and reimagined for everyday life, what started as sketches and samples slowly turned into something real through plenty of trial, error, and rethinking. We followed what felt right, trusted our instincts, and kept going because we genuinely loved what we were making.
We don’t claim to be perfectly sustainable, and we’re not trying to be. We’re human, learning as we go, and making more thoughtful choices where we can. From B Corp-certified warehousing to degradable polybags and paper packaging, it’s about progress, not perfection. Small steps, not big claims.
